For the three weeks for writing we have been working on a holiday narrative. There was a twist, we had to exaggerate what happened. I wrote about how I was in Switzerland and I was going to Germany in a car. Most of the characters in my story were  Oompa Loompas. The Oompa Loompas were the border patrol. For the main characterise I used characters from movies such as Oompa Loompas. At first i was vary scared but when i was half way through my narrative it started to get fun like how i modified parts  of my characters. emotions before camp

                       Emotions Before the Grand Camp
Hi, today we are blogging about our emotions before camp which is tomorrow. I feel very anxious because it is my first time not being with someone other than my family for that long. I am very excited about the skiing lessons. The thing the I am nervous  about is the ride from the school to the Lodge. But what scares me is some body stealing my go pro! The event that is going to push me to my limits is the skiing lessons and the outstanding coldness. After I go to camp I think I will start going skiing. When I come back from camp I will feel more confident with skiing and going on adventures in the cold weather!

secreat of the jelly mountain

Hi guys in week two for reading we had to read a novel called the secret of the jelly mountain. This novel was made by Des Hunt. The jelly mountain was a mountain in the shape of a jelly. That is how the mountain got its name the secret of the jelly mountain.

I really liked the novel because it was it was good a explaining, parts in the book. In the book it says Jessy and Jason were home schooled and used video conferencing gear to do there work at home. In the book it also explained that how the room that they did there work in it. On the mountain there was huias, huias are and extinct bird but their was a body of on close to the jelly mountain. There was a girl that lived close to the jelly mountain she wrote a book for his dad for when he came. But he died in world war 2 the girl wrote a book about the jelly mountain and the huia.

climate change march

Hello guys on 18 of may we went protesting against climate change at queen street. We had gathered at spark arena for a meting about climate change. After one hour we went to the streets. For writing we had to do a report. When we wrote the report we had to write it as if we were reports writing for a new's paper.

At  10.30 am the senior syndicate of Waikowhai Primary left after their fruit break. They had come to the city by bus. Other people used bus, trains and cars. The people who lived in the city  walked. The students of Waikowhai Primary arrived at Aotea Square with the rest of the protesters. There was a meeting at Aotea Square where the leaders taught the protesters a few chants.  And said to the protesters why climate change is happening. And that the government has put there head in the sand for to long and that they are ruining the Youth's future. Most people were shocked about the impact climate change has caused on the world. Protesters protested because they want to change the future and wake the Adults and Kids. After the leaders told the protesters what to do when they were on the  streets of Queen street. The police helped the protesters to block the streets. 

There was lots of reporters because of the crowd some reporters were standing on bins and bus stops to get a better view. The workers came out to see what was happening. Most of the protesters were teenagers. At 11 am on of the the teachers of Waikowhai Primary was  Sarah Daily was interviewed she said that the school was an eco-friendly school and that they support climate change. They protest started at 12 am there were a lots of protesters in Queen Street. There was also one helicopter to get a view from the sky. They were protesting for three hours after the  three hours the students of Waikowhai Primary school left to catch a bus they stopped at a park to have lunch after they went to catch the bus and go back to school. The students of New Zealand should be congratulated for standing up.

personal response

Hi  guys on  Friday 24 of may we went protesting against climate i will soon make a blog about.  Could not make a blog about climate change sooner because  we still are publishing. For reading we made a personal response about climate change. On the personal response it said what you liked about the climate  change what you would change. And what you did not like the only thing that i  did not like and would change was the weather because we needed to were beanies so we don't get lost . We had the personal so the teachers knew what we think about climate change.

African drumming

Hi guys! On Thursday, 16th of May the seniors had African drumming. As we entered the hall for African drumming, our drum teachers were demonstrating how to play the drums. There were about 30 drums on the ground, we had to pair up because there was not enough drums for all of us. Grayson and I paired up together. The people who worked for African drumming told us the name of the drum that we had. They also said that what tribe in Africa the drum had originated from .

They put us in groups, team one and team two (I was in team two). Each team had one song to do. When they told us what to do, we started playing on the drums. When each team started playing on the drums the sounds started to weave together. There were two beats, one was a loud bang and the other one was a soft bang. The sides of the drum created a soft bang while the loud bang can be made by hitting the middle of the drum. The organisation was called African drumming they also had work shops you could join. I enjoyed how the  songs wove together when you played.

     

letter box drop

Hi guys  recently we have been working on some shirts  for anti bullying day. We had a pallet that we posted quotes  to write on the shirt's. after we wrote the quotes we needed decorate the shirt's they needed to have some pink. Each of us had to have had there cards or four we would put the letters in random peoples letter boxes. But unfortunately when it was Friday i was not able to go because i had an appointment here are some photos blog you later.
