Christchurch special assembly

On the 18 of March our school had a special assembly to show respect to all the people who died in the shooting in Christchurch our school had bought a Kowhai tree to plant because it represents our school. One person from every culture in our school helped plant the tree. It does not matter what culture you are from because on the inside we are all the same. We also had 2 minutes of silence to show our respect to all the Muslims. Here is the link to the give a little page where you can donate to the families who lost loved ones https://givealittle.co.nz/ .

On 22 of march we had the best Community Day. We all brought $3 for a secret surprise which was a bouncy castle. We had a slip an slide, we brought our scooters ,we went to Molly Green, we even sold cakes. It was super fun.

Apparently the man did the shooting did so because his dad died and he hated Muslims. I am really proud of the way New Zealand dealt with the shooting. Some people went to the Mosque for the first time, people donated to the families of the people who died and got injured.

Here are some photos of Waikowhai showing that we care.
